Google has started rolling out its Gemini feature in Chrome to more countries in the Asia-Pacific region. These include Australia, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, and Vietnam. The feature is available on desktop and iPhone in all these countries except Japan, where it is only on desktop for now.
Since last year, Google has been adding Gemini into Chrome in different ways, like a small floating window inside the browser.
Earlier this year, Google also added a sidebar assistant. This helps users ask questions and get answers while working across different tabs. It also connects with services like Gmail and Google Photos to give more personal results. With this feature, users can schedule meetings using Google Calendar, check locations with Google Maps, and even write and send emails through Gmail.
Users can also edit and improve images directly from websites using a tool called Nano Banana 2 in the sidebar.
Gemini in Chrome was first launched in the United States in January. In March, it was expanded to India, Canada, and New Zealand.
Now, with this update, more people around the world can use Gemini in Chrome. However, one advanced feature that can control the browser and do tasks automatically is still being tested. It is currently only available to paid users in the United States.
