Pakistan Navy has successfully carried out a live firing test of the Taimoor air-launched cruise missile, a locally developed anti-ship weapon system. The test highlights the country’s growing defence strength and readiness.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations, the missile hit its target with high accuracy. The test confirmed the Navy’s ability to detect, track, and destroy enemy targets at sea over long distances.

This development comes just days after another successful test of a ship-launched anti-ship missile on April 16, showing continuous progress in Pakistan’s defence technology.

The military described this achievement as an important step in strengthening the country’s defence system. It also improves coordination between different branches of the armed forces, making their response more effective in modern warfare.

Pakistan Navy said it remains fully committed to protecting the country’s maritime borders and national interests.

Top leadership, including Asif Ali Zardari, Shehbaz Sharif, and Syed Asim Munir, along with other service chiefs, congratulated the scientists and engineers behind this success.

Earlier this year, Pakistan Navy also tested a surface-to-air missile in the North Arabian Sea, while the Pakistan Air Force conducted a successful flight test of the Taimoor weapon system, which can strike both land and sea targets up to 600 kilometres away.

These ongoing tests show Pakistan’s focus on strengthening its defence and keeping up with modern military needs.
